Vintage Wedding Styling

Vintage inspired weddings are the perfect way to add a personal touch to your special day with some eclectic, non-traditional & fun styling. Vintage decorating is all about mixing old and new. To achieve the look, you can decorate with mismatched wooden chairs, stacks of old books or suitcases, jam jars as tealights or vases, and use vintage mismatched china & silverware; all you need is a few visits to your local charity store, a few dollars and an eagle-eye! The look can be achieved with both a small (or large) budget, with as little or as much well-crafted handmade detail you would like!

Tea-dyed labels are great for sending out that vintage vibe, and make great placecards, escort cards, menus or table numbers. Check etsy for some custom made labels or handwrite your own.

Patterned paper bags are perfect gifts for your guests. You can fill them with chocolates, sweets, homemade cookies or jars of homemade jam. Add a handwritten label with a wooden peg or string and it can double as a placecard or thank you note to your guests. Also perfect to use for take away wedding cake or cupcakes, or for your dessert/candy table. There are lots of varieties available from online party styling stores such as Candy SoireeLe Petite Party & Donna Hay. Alternatively you can get white or brown bags on etsy or from craft stores and decorate them yourself.

Little glass milk bottles have so many uses and are perfect for a vintage wedding. Use them as vases with sprigs of flowers, clustered together on each table or as glasses on the drinks table with a retro striped straw, as shown here! You could also fill them with flavoured milk for your candy table or create an old-fashioned lemonade stand. You can buy them new, or drinks lots & lots of little Italian fruit nectar & mineral water to reuse the bottles!

Bunting is perfect for decorating events… it can be totally customised to suit the theme of the wedding using different colour, pattern and style! String some on the walls or across the ceiling for both the ceremony & reception. You can even make bunting from vintage or paper doilies! Mini bunting is a charming way to decorate your wedding cake. Why not have a cluster of different cakes on a dessert table with the same style bunting on each….?! Make the bunting yourself or check etsy or Made‐it for some bunting crafters.

Gorgeous natural branches are a unique & fun way to hang your guest’s table setting cards or thank you gifts that guests can pick off at the end of the wedding. Tie them with twine or ribbon to create a beautifully unique and special centrepiece

The perfect setting to hold a vintage wedding is in the beautifully tranquil countryside.  If you’re looking for a place to host your wedding in Country NSW, you can’t go past Trelawney Farm in Mudgee, NSW.  The 5 bedroom cottage is the perfect location, with the bridal party & guests able to stay overnight while the garden ceremony can be held onsite among acres of picturesque countryside.
